Soon after President Trump wrapped up his speech honoring America's 250th birthday, a fighter jet flew over the National Mall and what has been billed as the biggest fireworks show in history began. The crowd looked up as the pyrotechnic display colored the sky in shades of red, white and blue.
Cheers broke out at some of the largest bursts of light. Even some of National Guard troops and federal agents could be seen recording the light show on their phones. Most of the crowd packed near the Washington Monument, upon which the words “FREEDOM 250” were displayed.
A band in stage performed “YMCA,” “Livin’ on a Prayer” and “Don’t Stop Believin.’”
