Before Willie Nelson became one of the biggest names in country music, many in Nashville believed he'd never make it as a singer. His voice was called too different, too unconventional, and not right for country radio. In this episode of Country Music Spotlight, we explore the early rejection Willie faced, how he refused to change who he was, and why the very voice that critics dismissed helped make him a legend.

Do you think Willie Nelson has one of the most distinctive voices in country music history? Let us know in the comments!
