Parton said she wants to keep fans informed about her health and apologized for missing the event in person. The latest setback follows health challenges that began last year, including kidney stones and an infection, followed by postponed and eventually canceled Las Vegas shows. She has said she is responding well to medication and treatment and that her conditions are treatable. Despite stepping back from performances, Parton continues working on her upcoming Broadway musical, “Dolly: A True Original Musical,” which she will help develop but not star in.
