Dolly Parton had the perfect answer when Johnny Carson asked why she hadn’t appeared on his show before: he hadn’t asked her. ????

From birthday presents to growing up with 11 siblings, this exchange keeps getting funnier. Stay for Carson’s reaction when the conversation turns to having 12 children.

From Dolly Parton’s first appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, January 19, 1977, her birthday.
