*4 BIGGEST SCUMBAGS IN OLD COUNTRY MUSIC HISTORY — THE DARK SIDE OF NASHVILLE*

Old country was legendary music, but behind the rhinestones — some shocking true stories.

In this video we break down 4 most controversial figures in classic country (1950s-1980s) based on public court records, biographies, and news archives:

*00:00 Intro*
*00:45 1. Jerry Lee Lewis* — Country/rock pioneer. Publicly documented: married 13-year-old cousin Myra Gale Brown in 1957 when he was 22, career collapsed, multiple domestic cases later. FBI files public.
*02:15 2. Johnny Paycheck* — "Take This Job and Shove It." Documented: 1985 Ohio bar shooting of Larry Wise, 7-year prison sentence, aggravated assault conviction, drug charges.
*03:45 3. Johnny Cash — Early Years* — Revered later, but Cash himself admitted in autobiography: 1960s drug arrests (El Paso 1965 amphetamine), 1964 wildfire in Los Padres National Forest that burned 508 acres — admitted negligence, fined.
*05:15 4. Spade Cooley* — Western swing King. 1961 convicted of murdering wife Ella Mae Evans, documented torture case, died in prison after benefit concert.

Why Nashville hid these stories, and how country cleaned up.

All figures are public figures, info from public records, memoirs, New York Times obituaries, court documents.
