It was January 3rd, 2026.

Grandpa and I went to the Train Show in Expo Idaho to see what the model railroad hobbyist have, some they were selling, some were operating trains.

They got G Scale, Standard Gauge, O Gauge, S Gauge, HO Scale and N Scale. It was so cool to see many different trains and the coolest thing they bought up was a 7.5 inch gauge Thomas the Tank Engine to give the kids a little train ride in a circle.

While we were looking at the trains in the selling stand, I got an HO Scale Southern Pacific E8 No 6051 and an HO Scale High-Rail Excavator.

It was fun to see the train show and meet some friends from the Caldwell Model Railroad Club and Joel from the 3rd Division of Model Railroad Hobbyist.

Let's have a quick look at Nokia's first Internet Tablet, the 770 from 2005, which runs the Maemo OS, derived from the Debian Linux distribution. It's WiFi (or WLAN) only (IEEE 802.11b/g open networks) with Bluetooth 1.2 and Mini USB connectivity as well - no cellular mobile radio. It has 64MB of RAM, 128MB of internal storage and this one came with a 1GB Reduced Size MultiMediaCard (RS-MMC) for removable storage ... with some Johnny Cash MP3s!

It beat the iPad to market by five years ... the iPad still doesn't have removable storage ???? ... and has a rather nice 800x480 touch screen.

It was succeeded by the N800 and N810.

It is running the last official OS version for it: Internet Tablet 2006 edition, Version 3.2006.49-2. There were 2007 and 2008 "Hacker Editions" released but they're a bit hard to find these days ... just like the WLAN bug fix:

The major drawback of hyperlinking. Archive/Wayback machine weren't really working (503 error) when I made this video so couldn't check what they had.

Hi, I’m James, and welcome to Day 17 of the 31 Day Beginner Guitar Course.

I hope you had a great time learning Take It Easy in the last lesson — it’s a fantastic song with a brilliant chord progression. And don’t worry if you haven’t mastered everything yet, that’s completely normal.

Today we’re ditching the pick and taking your first steps into fingerstyle guitar, using Landslide by Fleetwood Mac.

This lesson is all about control, coordination, and clean notes.

In Day 17, you’ll learn:
• The basics of fingerpicking technique
• The fingerpicking pattern used in Landslide
• Which chords to use with the pattern
• Which finger stays down the whole time
• How to keep notes clean and ringing
• Why playing slowly is the key to fingerstyle progress

We’ll go through the technique, learn the pattern, and then play along to the pattern together.

Fingerstyle is a completely new skill, so take your time with this one. Go slow, focus on clean notes, and let your hands get used to the new movements.
